Cold in… warmth out
Sing your song, and use the weather to help you
Taking your cue from the seasons to clear your channels
Step outside and breathe.
Feel that bite of autumn in the air - sharp, cool, alive.
Once again, we’re transitioning to something other.
The trees are letting go.
The air has edge and purpose.
And our bodies (those clever, magical instruments) know exactly what to do. They’re seeking warmth and protection.
When that cold air slips in through your nose or mouth, your body warms it for you. Your pharynx (the spaces that sit behind your nose, mouth, and throat) begins the transformation. What was cold becomes warm. What was outside becomes yours. And when you breathe out, what leaves you carries the warmth of your life inside it.
That’s the miracle of breath: the body knows how to make warmth from cold.
Be your own radiator
Isn’t that exactly what this season asks of us as women, creators, and business owners?
The world outside is cooling. Everyone is wrapping themselves up, hustling and bustling, full of noise and urgency. But inside, deep within your core, is the steady glow that keeps everything moving (your work, your words, your voice).
To radiate warmth, you have to meet the cold first.
You have to let it in.
Cold is the contrast that wakes you up. It sharpens your senses. It invites your body to remember its power to transform. Every breath is proof that you already have everything you need to create warmth, calm, and clarity.
Breathwork as a bridge
This is where breathwork becomes an act of creative ownership.
Every inhale gathers The Outer (noise and expectations).
Every exhale shares The Inner.
Warm breath leaving the body is your reminder that you are capable of softening tension, of clearing the channels between what you feel and what you say.
As women, we often hold our breath and our tongue (not just metaphorically but physically repressing our voice). Sometimes it’s because we’re trying to sound composed, corporate, or confident. But mostly it’s because we’ve been taught to comply, not rock the boat, to be “nice.”
This holding creates tension, not resonance.
When we exhale with awareness, we make room for authenticity.
Breath by breath, we return to speaking for ourselves (about the things that matter most).
Your voice needs space
Autumn offers that space.
It’s a season for quiet, for listening, for releasing what no longer serves.
Your business needs that same spaciousness. The same clarity. The same willingness to let old silences fall away.
Your voice was built to connect and inspire. It doesn’t live in the busy, crowded air of “shoulds.” It lives in the body. It lives in your breath. It lives in the warmth you create before you even speak a word.
Connecting with your copy
When I talk about clearing your channels, I always start with breath (with breath as a way to connect with your body and your message).
If your breath is shallow, your words will feel the same.
If your body is tight, your tone will sound strained.
If your jaw is locked, your words will be locked inside you forever.
Breath is just the start of finding the energetic channel for your message (connecting body, voice, and expression to inspire and invite).
When you breathe deeply and allow your warmth to rise, your voice carries that energy. It reaches people differently. It holds your truth and speaks fully to them.
That’s the energy we work with in Channel Your Rules.
We clear the noise, channel your voice, and help your message move like breath: natural, warm, and alive.
If you want more ideas about how to tune to your channel using the release of breathwork...
A gentle breath practice for you… use the cold to your advantageStep outside into whatever nature is bringing you.
Inhale deeply through your nose and feel the chill on your nostrils, nasal cavity, and nasopharynx.
Feel how your body transforms that cold (the deeper inside it goes, the less the chill).
Then exhale fully and freely (don’t hold anything) and notice the warmth leaving your body.
That warmth is yours.
That’s your transformation in motion.
Now imagine your message flowing like that (cold uncertainty transformed into the warm clarity of your true voice).
This is how we begin to channel.
This is how we learn to breathe our truth into the world.
