Gifts are for giving… shine your light
Consider this your invitation
I’ve always known I had a voice.
Not just a singing one (although, that too!). My family would tell you, I’ve always been loud!
But for a long time, I didn’t quite know what to do with this gift.
And because it wasn’t connected to my purpose, I did what many of us do. I lost it. I tucked it away. I made it smaller to make others more comfortable.
Somewhere along the line (probably at lots of different points and places), I’d learned a story that said:
Don’t shine too brightly. Don’t take up space. Don’t make it about you.
Here’s what I know now:
It was never about me. It was always about what my voice could do for others.
You have gifts too… are you using them with purpose?
Having a gift isn’t a badge of honour.
The honour is in using it as a baton. Something you carry carefully, then pass on. Something you offer wholeheartedly. Your gift given with purpose.
I don’t see myself as the hero in my business. I’m the one who shines the spotlight, then fades into the dark so my clients can shine. In shining brightly, in their turn, they bring their gifts to the world. Then we all shine.
Put on your sunglasses, people!
Service doesn’t mean self-sacrifice.
Hell NO! I’m not talking about hollowing yourself out to be helpful. I’ve done the burnout dance and I bet you have too. It doesn't serve anyone.
If we all shine brightly, we’re gonna need our sunglasses
But I do believe in generosity of spirit.
I believe in showing up with all of yourself.
I believe in offering your talent without ego, and with enormous love.
My clients don’t need saving. They are (without exception) phenomenal women. What they do need is the confidence and guidance to speak their truth. To speak their gift into purposeful existence.
My gift is to see who they are and offer the structure, the clarity, and the tone to connect them to their people.
I bring the magic, so that they can stop overthinking and start being heard.
This is the work I was made for.
I didn’t build my business by accident. It’s taken me years to get to this point. I couldn’t ignore the pull of writing any longer - much as I tried.
You know that Queen song, Don’t Stop Me Now? That’s how I feel now that I’m on the gift train, running at full speed towards all the good stuff. My goodness it’s exciting!
And that’s how I want my clients to feel too. Because WORDS ARE POWERFUL!
When I help a founder find their voice, it’s never just about the copy. It’s about alignment, connection, joy.
And those feelings are contagious. When the words you use are connected to your purpose and your resonant ideal client’s innermost desires, your gift comes to life.
And I don’t mean creepy toys coming to life at nighttime when everyone sleeps. I mean Buzz Lightyear joy! Wings out, heart-led, soaring kind of joy.
What’s the “special” that you’re not sharing?
Whatever it is… Consider this your invitation to let it shine.
At first you’ll feel uncomfortable (and others may too) but I promise, the cringe will pass.
And on the other side of that, is your gift being given with purpose to people who feel the benefit of that purpose.
Promise!
